Weekend Getaway to Boston: 5 Places You Shouldn’t Miss for Anything!
With just two days in a weekend, we’d say the best time for you to start your trip to Boston is to leave on Friday night and be here for almost two full days. You can return to your city on Sunday night and be home soon enough to show up for work on Monday morning.
The Boston Commons
The Boston Commons is right next to the popular Boston Public Gardens, which makes it all the better. Not only can you visit two places, but you can do it without having to spend doubly on commute. Oh, and did we forget to mention that both these places are breathtakingly beautiful with their trees and trimmed bushes and grass patches? It’s a real pleasure in here. They make for a great getaway for a quick walk and some pictures.
The Boston Public Library
Now, once you have had your scenic walk, it’s time to move on to the Boston Public Library. “But,” you might say, “I didn’t come to Boston to read books!”
We know that. We aren’t asking you to visit the library to become a patron. We’re asking you to do this because the library is a magnificent work of art. The giant brick building is surrounded by many bouquets of startling purple flowers—and they look lovely in the spring and summer!
The Marketplace
If you are famished by now, it’s time you move on to the Marketplace. The lobster rolls here are a Bostonian classic, and we’re sure you’ll find them very filling. Right across from the Marketplace is the historic Faneuil Hall. If you want to feel like you have been transported back in time right to the 1700s, we highly suggest that you pay a visit to Faneuil Hall.
Acorn Lane
You’ve had your lunch, and if you’re in the mood to digest it, head on towards one of the prettiest streets in the country. Its scenic, vintage houses have an almost baroque feel to them. This is the perfect spot for a late afternoon stroll.
The Freedom Trail
For your remaining day, book a tour on the Freedom Trail, and go down the path of Boston’s rich, amazing history. You’ll be surprised to find out how significant some of the buildings are to America’s history in general.
And while you’re doing your exploring. . .
Leave Your Bags with Cubby
Here’s a pro tip: check out of your hotel in the morning when you leave for the Freedom Trail tour. You won’t need to come back to the hotel anyway—except for your bags. But why leave them there and pay for an additional day when you can simply leave them with a luggage storage service, such as Cubby?
Cubby offers its services in Austin, Dallas, Atlanta, Galveston, Fort Worth, Boston, Houston, Washington D.C., Las Vegas, and San Antonio and will be happy to accommodate you!
