Next, teach them to stay put in their seat for long hours. If your pet is active and likes to move around a lot, they’ll find it hard to stay in a seat. Tie their leash to the car seat and leave them in the vehicle for a while at a time to get them accustomed to that feeling.

If you’re planning a long journey, plan your stops in advance so that your pet gets a chance to stretch and move around at intervals. If you’re planning to rest during the night at a hotel, make sure they’re pet-friendly places who wouldn’t mind having a dog in the house.
